background
Born in a small town in Indiana, I have always wanted
to travel the world and make a difference. Growing up
I was constantly tinkering with computers, and reading
about technology and space. During my high school years,
I participated in many sports and built my high school newspaper's original website. While
building this website I became fascinated with the internet. Now, some 12 years after
my first telnet experience I consider myself obsessed with the internet.
design philosophy
My design philosophy revolves around a very simple
question, "Why?" This one word question can ruin or
validate almost every design. By asking this question
multiple times we can get to the root of the problem and
ultimately start formulating a solution. When proposing
solutions I always go back to the root problem to see how
my design has solved the issue.
education
I have a diverse educational background; Bachelors
in computer science to my Masters in Human Computer Interaction Design.
I have coded, designed, and
tested all sorts of informational communication
technologies. As a designer I try to constantly
hone my craft by learning various new skills. If
I am not designing something usually I am reading
a blog about technology, like TechCrunch.
